Book review (Next door to love)

'I don't need a man, Janet,' I told her. 'I 'm happy without a boyfriend.' But Janet looked at me. 'Everyone needs someone, Stella,' she said. (p.13)

This is a romance story. Tony moved to next to Stella's room. Every time she looked at him, he was sad. Then she wanted to know about him.
And the more she knew about him, the more she loved him...

I quoted this part because I like this scene the best. This Janet's word stabbed my heart...


I want to make friends before a lover...I'm almost dying due to loneliness.

Book review (Parallel)

'I can't understand most things, Mr Fairhead.' 'Well, Max. This man is you. But he doesn't live in this world' (p.12)

Max Holland is a murderer. One day Mr Fairhead visited his flat to give a job. At first, however he rejected, when he saw some pictures which Mr Fairhead had, his mind was changed. Pictures were about a priest, whose face is same to Max. As Mr Fairhead saying, he is Max Holland living in parallel world...

This story is very difficult to understand. I recommend to read more than twice.

Book review (Help!)

'We're going to be rich,' I said to myself. 'Teresa and I are going to have lots of money. Teresa's going to be happy. And I'm going to be happy. Teresa's not going to be angry with me now!' (p.16)

Frank Wormold is a writer. He haven't published his novel yet. (it means he earns no money) And it makes his wife Teresa unhappy. To help him finish one of his stories he started to use a computer. But the computer gives him more help than he wants. Then he really needs' 'help!'

I don't understand the last...

 A man was taken to the hospital. Doctor Cox asked him to some question, but he couldn't answer. He lost his memory. However he only remembered his name, John.
At this time, there was a news of murder and the criminal's name was John Roberts...

Those who know the mean of this title will be able to read it mirthfully.

Book review (Three Tomorrows)

'This is stupid,' everyone said. Then they bought something too. No one knew how to stop. Shopping was the only thing people talked about_in the street, on the news. (p.9)

This book is a collection of three short stories. I recommend first story, Spam. This story is about an incident which spam caused and affected all people. Although this is a fiction, we can't look it as just a fiction. I thought it can be happen in real world.

Book review (Hotel Casanova)

He looked at his plan. "Everything is good," he thought. The woman with the long dark hair came and stayed at the Hotel Grand, and everything changed. (p.8)

Dino Bracco works at the Hotel Grand in Venice. He has a plan that when he become twenty-six year old, he is going to get marry someone and when he become thirty years old, he will own his hotel. However a woman who visited the Hotel Grand changed his plan and life...

After I read it,  I felt "I can't catch up to the expansion of this story..." What's Dino doing???"
But this story is really interested. I recommend it.

His name is Bruce Wayne. He lives in a big apartment in Gotham City. He is very rich man. But this is one of his faces. At night he changes into Batman to protect Gotham City. This is his another secret face. Today he fights against the evil for the peace...

I never read or see Batman. Now I am very interested in it! I like unknown heroes very much. So I decided to see Batman movies in my summer vacation. I'm looking forward to it!

Book review (Magical Animals)

Long ago in Greece, there lived a handsome prince named Bellerophon. He was strong, brave, and loved by everyone except the king. The king wanted to get rid of him. Then he thought up a plan to sent him to kill the Chimera; man-eating monster...

There are two myth creatures; Chimera and Pegasus. Although I knew these, I didn't know they had a relationship. I like both of them very much. But I had a little chuckle at the last. (Read yourself!)

Book review (Space Cat)

"I'm hungry," said Space Cat."My fish and jelly noodles will be ready soon," said Earl the robot."You don't know how to cook," said Space Cat."The last time you made noodles, they tasted like glue!""A robot never gives up", said Earl. (pp.6~7)

Space Cat and Earl were on the road to earth. But suddenly their rocket hit a space rock and made a hole in the fuel tank. Space Cat had to land a planet which he found ahead and get some fuel. He looked for it while Earl fix tank and dinner...

You may be surprised at the last. I quoted there because this conversation makes sense. I wonder the noodle taste like glue... 

Book review (Amelia Bedelia)

"Amelia Bedelia, why are all the light bulbs outside?" asked Mr. Rogers."The list just said to put the lights out," said Amelia Bedelia."It didn't say to bring them back in. Oh, I do hope they didn't get aired too long." (pp.46~47)

Amelia Bedelia was a maid. She started her new life in Roger's house. Mrs. Rogers handed her to-do list before she and Mr. Roger went out. Before doing work she baked a lemon-meringue pie.  Then she all worked as the list but with misunderstanding...

During reading this story, I couldn't help being surprised. Why did she made such misunderstandings...(refer my quotation)
This is like Unjash (Japanese comedian combi).

Book review (Uncle Elephant)

"If this is your kingdom," I said, "are you the king?""I suppose I am," said Uncle Elephant."If you are the king," I said,"I must be the prince.""Of course," said Uncle Elephant,"you  must be  the prince!"We made ourselves crown of flowers. (p.30)

Main boy's (an elephant) parents went for a sail. After seeing them off, he went back to home because he was sick. However unfortunately the storm prevented them from coming back. He was alone in his dark room. Then Uncle Elephant visited his home. He knew his parents were missing. And they decided to live together until parents come back.

I was moved at uncle's gentleness for his nephew. I thought he was rather grandpa than uncle. Although he was not so young, he made efforts to make his nephew happy. I want to be such person when I come to such age.

Book review (Frog and Toad together)

"We need will power.""What is will power?" asked Toad."Will power is trying hard not to do something that you really want to do," said Frog. (pp. 34~35)

Frog and Toad were eating cookies made by Toad. Cookies were too delicious to stop eating. Then they thought the solution to stop them eating cookies more...

I guessed will power was an original word of the author. I like this expression very much. I want to get will power because I'm not a patient person...

Book review (Frog and Toad are friends)

He put the paper in an envelop. On the envelop he wrote "A LETTER FOR TOAD." (p. 57)

 Toad was spending an unhappy time. It was to wait for the mail to come. He had never got any mails. Then his friend, Frog came up with an idea to wrote a letter for him.

Many of you might have read this story at the elementary school class. This story is famous even for our Japanese. This is deep although the story itself is very simple. Like this Toad, I don't receive any e-mails from my friends, too (don't refer that I have few friends in the first place). Only if I had such friends...

Book review (Harry and the lady next door)

The lady next door sang. She sang high and loud. When she sang, Harry's ears hurt. (p. 10)

 Harry was a white dog with black spots. He didn't like the lady next door because she sang high and loud. As days went, her voice became louder and higher. He struggled to stop her singing, but all of them ended in failure...

Although I thought dogs don't like high and loud voice like a soprano singer, it's nonsense to disturb someone's singing! But I had a little chuckle to read the last. I recommend it.

Finally I joined to the group line!! Why did I have to spent such three months to do that!? I cried whole of last night. Despaired. I feel myself solitary more than before. It's too painful.

Book review (The fire cat)

Pickles was a yellow cat with black spots in his fur. He lived alone in an old barrel. He had big paws and wished to do big things with them. But he always only ran after little cats. One day when he ran after it to top of the tree, he couldn't climb down because there were rain and wind. Then he was helped by a fireman and that moment his life began to change...

I was moved that he said the same serif what he was said when he helped by a fireman at later part. Cats save the world.

My Week

I always read books last week. I read "Too old to rock and roll and other stories", "Grace darling" and some novels written by Andersen. But actually I have read only forty books! I died. How many books and reviews do I have to read and write??? I can't see my future.

Book review (The ugly duckling)

Wow! He had grown into a beautiful swan, just like them! (p.15)

One day five eggs hatched: four of them were fluffy and cute ducklings and only another was gray and ugly. He was always bullied by other brothers, geese, herons and so on because of his ugly looks. That made him shy and he had lived alone for many months. However when he was spoken to a swan, he finally noticed that he was the same.

Before the reading, I doubt that a chick of swan is really so but it's true (Although I can't think it ugly...). What the cute baby swans! Why could we bully them!! (noisy)

If I had born to be the same, I've never annoyed about my terrible looks. Haha.

My Week

Last Thursday, I took an interview of a part-time-job. It is service in cafeteria for Nisseki workers. It will be my first job, so I feel both interest and afraid.
If you have the time to go to there, maybe I'm working there. My part-time is from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. (Who will come such time...)
Anyway, I'll work on my first job seriously!

Book reviews (The Death of Karen Silkwood)

"You know, Karen, we really must leave the factory. It's very dangerous. How many times do we hear the alarm now? More and more often. And every time we hear it, we know that someone is in danger." (p.12)

It was November 13th, 1974. A car accident happened in a midnight and a woman, Karen Silkwood was dead. She was on the road to Oklahoma and bringing important documents and pictures in a brown envelop. She worked at a nuclear factory and on these, there are the real date of nuclear's negatives...

This story is non-fiction. I felt sad and one of cruel of destiny to read her work, pain, a scare of her shorten life, endeavors, and her last. If she had been arrived at there, she could have exposed injustice of her factory.

Destiny kills man at random, but merciless.

Book review (England)

You can't see it all in one visit. But you can come back again...and again...and again... England is always ready to say, "Hello! Nice to see you! " (p.18)

Before I read it I only know England about Stonehenge. Now I am very interested in there and want to visit, especially Stratford-upon-Avon and Bath! Forster is where William Shakespeare was born. I love his work especially Romeo and Juliet so there is one of holy places to me. Later is famous for its Royal Crescent and other beautiful buildings. I want to visit the Museum of Costume because there are many of classical dresses. I often draw costumes imitating these on my illustrations so these resources must stimulate my imagination! If I have a plan to go abroad, I will choice there!

My Week

Last Saturday, I was surprised at the alarm from my smartphone. I felt a scare but I didn't escape. My room is on seventh floor, so the height is enough. Also the escape places are too far from their. I wish this long rain finish early.

Book review (101 dalmatians)

Back in London, Pongo and Perdita are very sad. "We have to find our puppies," they say. (p. 12)

 There were single man Roger and his Dalmatian Pongo. They met an woman Anita and her dog Perdita, same Dalmatian and got married. Some weeks ago, fifteen puppies were born between Pongo and Perdita. However, one day, an old friend of Anita, Cruella visited there house. She liked Dalmatian's beautiful coats and she was going to rob them their dogs. Fortunately, that day they could make her back, next day, a terrible matter had happened...

I wonder why their fifiteen puppies increased to 101. Alchemy? Clone? Magic?
Although I love cats, I began to like dogs.

Nonsense

Futile. Just futile. Why do I have to make a post for nihility? Despite nobody check my blog. There are no one who looks at me. Still solitary. I wonder how long this loneliness will last.
Who fill my blank? Let me teach!
Also I know this sorrow won't be noticed by anyone.

My Week

Last Saturday, I went to PARCO and bought a kannzashi in Kannzashiya. Although the length of my hair was above my shoulder, I could use it. Now I can only arrange mine half-up but I want to make it longer. I wish if I were a beautiful woman who the kannzashi match.

LLC

There are a lot of books, DVDs, magazines and games in LLC. Pop-up books are also there. wonderful.
The most thing I surprised and pleased was INSIDER! This is one of board games. I have played it many times in my circle. (of course it was Japanese ver.) Very fun.
I think this makes our English communication skills improve. I want to play in English with my classmate and make them join to table game circle! (I am only eibun student now. Lonely.)

My Week

Yesterday, finally I finished writing the novel for Hakua festival! Yeahhhhhh!!
It was great to me to submit it before the deadline (this Thursday). It was my first work. But I'm afraid of evaluation. It's inevitable to be valued strictly. I'll be depressed.

I wonder why they he could ran faster than them. He is just a cookie, isn't he?

My Week

Last weekend I went to my hometown Nagasaki. I played with my dear cat Moca so much! He was very very verrrrrrrrrrrrrrry cute. And precious. I wish if he were always with me. Lonely.
Also there held a flee market of hand-made accessories. I bought a pair of earring and lariat which is simillar to necklace. But I knew it by chance. It was so lucky to me.

Book review (Mulan)

In ancient China, there was a young woman, Hua Mulan. She lived with there family in a little village. One day, the Emperor announced that the enemy were now here in their country and he needed a big army. Then her father was on the list which showed who join to the battle. However he was too old to fight and he was in ill. So she decided to go to the battlefield instead of him...

Mulan was too cool. I want to call her Chinese Valkyrie. Although I understand it is nonsense to suspect, I wonder why all other soldiers couldn't notice she was a woman. But fighting woman is our roman, isn't it?

My Week

I had been always in my house because these were bad weather. I'm worry about when I can make my clothes wash and out to dry. There are many clothes waiting for washing. I wish there are more sunny days.

Book review (Puss in boots:The Gold of San Ricardo)

"A good friend is better than gold," she said."Thanks!" said Puss."Now we have to stop Humpty!" (p. 21) 

Puss in boots wanted to get the magic beans back from Jack and Jill. Then he met Kitty Softpaws who were good at stealing and his old friend Humpty Dumpty. Humpty had a plan to become rich by these.It was that they steal the golden goose living on top of the beanstalk and sell golden eggs. At first Puss didn't want to cooperate with them but he accepted unwillingly.They stolen it and got a lot of golden eggs. However, next day he was betrayed by Humpty...

This story is based on 'Jack and the Beanstalk'. However on this story, he is like a bad man. But Humpty is more worse! It's terrible to betray his old friend.
Puss and Kitty are too cool. I love them.

Book review (The Josefina Story Quilt)

"Josefina may be old," he said,

Josefina was an old hen which is Faith`s pet. Her family were going to move to California. She wanted to take her but it was rejected. For she was too old to lay eggs and too tough to eat. However she couldn't give up and finally she could persuaded her family to take her to there. And the time had come to leave to California...

The way of California was so long and they encountered many troubles. Some of them was caused by Josefina but she also helped them.  The brave of her and the last must move you.

My Week

I often drew illustrations by color pencils. At first I began to use it instead of drawing digital pictures but now I enjoy using it. I may up some illustrations if I want to show you. (Perhaps that time will never come...)

Book review (A Good Friend)

He looks at me and smiles.He says, "You are more than a good friend to me." (p. 21)

 One day, Eric visited his friend, Yoko and induced her to go to the beach. She wanted to do but her mother didn't allow. However, against to mother's words, she went to the beach_____not knowing to that she had a bad time later.

Although I could understand Yoko's mother's thinking, I thought it bias to judge Eric's personality only from his looks. Only I can say is he was a real good guy.

Book review (The Fox and the Crow)

One day, a hungry fox found a crow which has some piece of cheese. Then the fox decided to praise the crow to get his cheese.

Some of you may know this story because this story is based on a story by Aesop.

This is a simple story but helpful to live well in social.
