I never read or see Batman. Now I am very interested in it! I like unknown heroes very much. So I decided to see Batman movies in my summer vacation. I'm looking forward to it!

Book review (Magical Animals)

Long ago in Greece, there lived a handsome prince named Bellerophon. He was strong, brave, and loved by everyone except the king. The king wanted to get rid of him. Then he thought up a plan to sent him to kill the Chimera; man-eating monster...

There are two myth creatures; Chimera and Pegasus. Although I knew these, I didn't know they had a relationship. I like both of them very much. But I had a little chuckle at the last. (Read yourself!)

Book review (Space Cat)

"I'm hungry," said Space Cat."My fish and jelly noodles will be ready soon," said Earl the robot."You don't know how to cook," said Space Cat."The last time you made noodles, they tasted like glue!""A robot never gives up", said Earl. (pp.6~7)

Space Cat and Earl were on the road to earth. But suddenly their rocket hit a space rock and made a hole in the fuel tank. Space Cat had to land a planet which he found ahead and get some fuel. He looked for it while Earl fix tank and dinner...

You may be surprised at the last. I quoted there because this conversation makes sense. I wonder the noodle taste like glue... 

Book review (Amelia Bedelia)

"Amelia Bedelia, why are all the light bulbs outside?" asked Mr. Rogers."The list just said to put the lights out," said Amelia Bedelia."It didn't say to bring them back in. Oh, I do hope they didn't get aired too long." (pp.46~47)

Amelia Bedelia was a maid. She started her new life in Roger's house. Mrs. Rogers handed her to-do list before she and Mr. Roger went out. Before doing work she baked a lemon-meringue pie.  Then she all worked as the list but with misunderstanding...

During reading this story, I couldn't help being surprised. Why did she made such misunderstandings...(refer my quotation)
This is like Unjash (Japanese comedian combi).

Book review (Uncle Elephant)

"If this is your kingdom," I said, "are you the king?""I suppose I am," said Uncle Elephant."If you are the king," I said,"I must be the prince.""Of course," said Uncle Elephant,"you  must be  the prince!"We made ourselves crown of flowers. (p.30)

Main boy's (an elephant) parents went for a sail. After seeing them off, he went back to home because he was sick. However unfortunately the storm prevented them from coming back. He was alone in his dark room. Then Uncle Elephant visited his home. He knew his parents were missing. And they decided to live together until parents come back.

I was moved at uncle's gentleness for his nephew. I thought he was rather grandpa than uncle. Although he was not so young, he made efforts to make his nephew happy. I want to be such person when I come to such age.

Book review (Frog and Toad together)

"We need will power.""What is will power?" asked Toad."Will power is trying hard not to do something that you really want to do," said Frog. (pp. 34~35)

Frog and Toad were eating cookies made by Toad. Cookies were too delicious to stop eating. Then they thought the solution to stop them eating cookies more...

I guessed will power was an original word of the author. I like this expression very much. I want to get will power because I'm not a patient person...

Book review (Frog and Toad are friends)

He put the paper in an envelop. On the envelop he wrote "A LETTER FOR TOAD." (p. 57)

 Toad was spending an unhappy time. It was to wait for the mail to come. He had never got any mails. Then his friend, Frog came up with an idea to wrote a letter for him.

Many of you might have read this story at the elementary school class. This story is famous even for our Japanese. This is deep although the story itself is very simple. Like this Toad, I don't receive any e-mails from my friends, too (don't refer that I have few friends in the first place). Only if I had such friends...

Book review (Harry and the lady next door)

The lady next door sang. She sang high and loud. When she sang, Harry's ears hurt. (p. 10)

 Harry was a white dog with black spots. He didn't like the lady next door because she sang high and loud. As days went, her voice became louder and higher. He struggled to stop her singing, but all of them ended in failure...

Although I thought dogs don't like high and loud voice like a soprano singer, it's nonsense to disturb someone's singing! But I had a little chuckle to read the last. I recommend it.

My Week

Finally I joined to the group line!! Why did I have to spent such three months to do that!? I cried whole of last night. Despaired. I feel myself solitary more than before. It's too painful.

Book review (The fire cat)

"Come cat,"he said to Pickles. "Let me help you." (p. 26)

Pickles was a yellow cat with black spots in his fur. He lived alone in an old barrel. He had big paws and wished to do big things with them. But he always only ran after little cats. One day when he ran after it to top of the tree, he couldn't climb down because there were rain and wind. Then he was helped by a fireman and that moment his life began to change...

I was moved that he said the same serif what he was said when he helped by a fireman at later part. Cats save the world.

My Week

I always read books last week. I read "Too old to rock and roll and other stories", "Grace darling" and some novels written by Andersen. But actually I have read only forty books! I died. How many books and reviews do I have to read and write??? I can't see my future.

Book review (The ugly duckling)

Wow! He had grown into a beautiful swan, just like them! (p.15)

One day five eggs hatched: four of them were fluffy and cute ducklings and only another was gray and ugly. He was always bullied by other brothers, geese, herons and so on because of his ugly looks. That made him shy and he had lived alone for many months. However when he was spoken to a swan, he finally noticed that he was the same.

Before the reading, I doubt that a chick of swan is really so but it's true (Although I can't think it ugly...). What the cute baby swans! Why could we bully them!! (noisy)

If I had born to be the same, I've never annoyed about my terrible looks. Haha.

My Week

Last Thursday, I took an interview of a part-time-job. It is service in cafeteria for Nisseki workers. It will be my first job, so I feel both interest and afraid.
If you have the time to go to there, maybe I'm working there. My part-time is from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. (Who will come such time...)
Anyway, I'll work on my first job seriously!

Book reviews (The Death of Karen Silkwood)

"You know, Karen, we really must leave the factory. It's very dangerous. How many times do we hear the alarm now? More and more often. And every time we hear it, we know that someone is in danger." (p.12)

It was November 13th, 1974. A car accident happened in a midnight and a woman, Karen Silkwood was dead. She was on the road to Oklahoma and bringing important documents and pictures in a brown envelop. She worked at a nuclear factory and on these, there are the real date of nuclear's negatives...

This story is non-fiction. I felt sad and one of cruel of destiny to read her work, pain, a scare of her shorten life, endeavors, and her last. If she had been arrived at there, she could have exposed injustice of her factory.

Destiny kills man at random, but merciless.

Book review (England)

You can't see it all in one visit. But you can come back again...and again...and again... England is always ready to say, "Hello! Nice to see you! " (p.18)

Before I read it I only know England about Stonehenge. Now I am very interested in there and want to visit, especially Stratford-upon-Avon and Bath! Forster is where William Shakespeare was born. I love his work especially Romeo and Juliet so there is one of holy places to me. Later is famous for its Royal Crescent and other beautiful buildings. I want to visit the Museum of Costume because there are many of classical dresses. I often draw costumes imitating these on my illustrations so these resources must stimulate my imagination! If I have a plan to go abroad, I will choice there!

My Week

Last Saturday, I was surprised at the alarm from my smartphone. I felt a scare but I didn't escape. My room is on seventh floor, so the height is enough. Also the escape places are too far from their. I wish this long rain finish early.
