Book Review (The Little Mermaid)

"Who are you? " he asked. She couldn't answer. He asked again. She still couldn't answer. Instead, she smiled.  (p.42)

In the deep sea, there were six mermaids. They were allowed to rise above the sea at fifteen years old. When the littlest mermaid's fifteenth birthday, she looked a ship and a handsome young man; prince. Suddenly a storm broken a ship and the crew were dropped out into the sea. Then she saved prince's  life and went back to the deep sea with satisfaction. After this incident, she began to think for the prince, but...

I love this story with all my heart. This story wasn't give relief too much because no one was bad. But THIS is just great! I don't like convenient story. There are nothing to gain.

Book Review (Stories of Dolls)

She took Daisy's hand and led her to the car. But Daisy had forgotten something... (p.37)

It was the day of the school fair. Daisy run around with her doll Ella. She found a table full with toys and put it on. Then she went to her mother because she called her to go home, without her precious doll...

All illustration were cute! This story is my best. I often forget something somewhere, too (LOL)! I couldn't thought such book tell me a lesson...

Book Review (Fancy Nancy: Every Day is Earth Day)

"Dad, don't waste water. Get clean, but stay green." (p. 15)

At first Nancy didn't like green. However when her class decided the rules to protect their (also our) planet, she began to favor green color. She did many works in accordance to rules (sometimes she made mistakes...)

First of all, everything of this book is cute! Not only illustration but also descriptions of words are pretty! I never read such wonderful book. I love it very much.

Book Review (Fancy Nancy: The 100th Day of School)

At home, it is sad to see the empty fishbowl.Mom is about to throw out the pebbles. Then, all of sudden, I get an idea that is imaginative. (pp.24~25)

Three days ago of the 100th day of school, Nancy had a dilemma. She didn't know what to bring in for the 100th day. Her friends brought a hat with one hundred feathers, one hundred stamps in his album, one hundred pennies in a piggy bank and so on. She looked for one hundred thing around her home. Then, all of sudden, she heard her sister crying. She cried because her goldfish was dead. But it gave Nancy a hint of the thing for 100th day.

Her idea was great. Her work was beautiful and it will make goldfish over the heaven happy.

Book Review (Fancy Nancy: Apples Galore!)

Ooh la la!Today our class is going on a trip. We are going apple picking. (p.2)

It was autumn. Today's class was a trip for apple picking. She and her buddy Lionel were looking forward to. But there was a problem; Lionel was a mischievous boy. He made jokes on bus and in the galore. Finally he broke a promise that they can't climb on apple branches...

I like autumn, too! (because I was born in autumn.) After reading I wanted to eat some apples...
Nancy was cute this time, too!

Book Review (Fancy Nancy: Poison Ivy Expert)

In the fall, poison ivy turns red.It looks very beautiful. But don't let that fool you.Stay away! (p.25)

Nancy was picking a bouquet of wildflowers to give Ms. Glass as a birthday present. Next day she brought it to school. Suddenly she felt her skin itches. She had a poison ivy...

I had same experience when I was a child, too. I had many hard time because especially my skin was sensitive... (and now). She learned about poison ivy from her experience and noted. Beside it's important to learn from experiences, remembering is also important, too.

Book Review (Fancy Nancy: Fancy Day in Room 1-A)

On Sunday nightI look through my wardrobe. That's fancy for all my clothes.I find my most fancy dress.I will also wear boas, bracelets, tons of necklaces, lace gloves, and sparkly clips in my hair.I am fancy all the time,so I must be super-duper fancy on Fancy Day. (p.22)

It was rainy day. All of students were boring. Ms. Glass suggested that they make something fun to look forward to. Then Nancy had an idea of Fancy Day; they can wear fancy clothes and eat fancy food and use fancy manners. Everyone was favor in her idea and teacher adopted. They started to prepare for Fancy Day...

I read it with a lot of fun! It seems not only very fun but instructive. In Fancy Day they used some table manner and some French such as "merci". I thought kindergartens or elementary schools in Japan should introduce such day.

Book Review (The Story of Chocolate)

A thousand years ago, chocolate was a big secret. Only a few people drank it and nobody ate it. (p.1)
I chose this book because I like chocolate very much. I can't imagine that chocolate once was used as money and at Mayan weddings. Even now this is familiar to everyone, it was a holy food (drink?).
Oh, writing this book review makes me eager to eat some chocolates!

Book Review (The Phantom of the Opera)

Christine could not speak. She wanted to scream, but no words came. Then she found her voice again. "How can you do this, Erik! Why don't you kill me?""Because I love you, Christine. Marry me, be my wife, and love me. Then Raoul and the Persian can live. " (p. 36)

In the Opera House there was a strange rumor about a ghost. One girl, Meg said that she saw it in the corridor. At first no one believe her but then many strange things happened. The managers of the Opera House received some letters that the writer―Phantom demanded that they must chose Christine as a prima donna of Faust,  but they didn't. When "Faust" was acted, suddenly a big chandelier fell down and Carlotta, who was a prema donna was hurt. Since then Christine acted the main person. Christine began a famous actress in a twinkling,  However oneday she was taken by somebody…

This is my Bible. I read it repeatedly. I thought the envy of Phantom was marvelous. It made my preferences distorted so much. It made now me. I couldn't introduce my preferences without it.

Long Book Review (Ricky and the American Girl)

Ricky watched her walking away down the road. He was still standing under the streetlight when she looked back and gave a little wave. Ricky waved back. And then she was gone.
'Oh, no!' sighed Ricky. 'I didn't ask her name!' (p.20)

Ricky was a quiet and smart student. He has a few friends but he was always alone. On a Friday afternoon in November, when he was on the road to his home, he saw a girl who was seemed to be lost. She had a long blond hair and her accent was difficult from local one, so he found she was American. He was asked by her and told the road. After the conversation he began to be interested in her, but he forgot asking her name. Then his life has changed…

This book was very interesting! I thought it might be a boy-meets-girl story and it wasn't wrong. Although it was wrong, I couldn't guess that Ricky became intimate with Holly! Not Alexis! I was betrayed in a positive sense. To begin with, he didn't have any chances to associate with Alexis because she already had a lover. Therefore she was boring with England and his date plan was not good at all. It was nature that she wasn't interested in him.

Next, I tried to dig into each main characters, Ricky, Alexis, and Holly I said Ricky was a smart student, but he wasn't smart at love. It seemed that his feeling that he wanted to meet her and got along with jumped the gun and he didn't planed well. If he planed anything, for example, what he told, where he took her, it might be much better. However he got along with Holly without any plan. Well, it might be  because they have been acquaintances.
I thought Alexis wasn't a wicked girl. She was a too honest person, so there were no malice. It was the blame of Ricky why she was bored when Ricky and her went out together. However she must apologize to Holly, I thought. It was her blame that Holly did a project what she didn't have to do. You were avoided. OK, I'll put it on the side.
Holly was the true heroine! She was a true good person on the contrary of Alexis. I considered she became to be interested in Ricky at the party. Before that she might think thim just one of classmates. She had some sympathies with
Ricky about her. She was also bothered by her. She didn't hate her cousin but she didn't get along with her. Maybe she wanted any friends who could understand her complain. That is my consideration.

After I wrote that, I found one thing. Did he grew up right? Wasn't it just lucky? He did certainly some actions bravery, but I doubt that he really learn how to planning a date.
Anyway the story was very good. I liked this best in this series.

I can said this with a firm belief. You must be betrayed by the last.

Book Review (Sixpence, long ver)

"I don't think it's the mother's job to beat the children. It's the duty of the father. And, besides, he impresses them so much more." (p.54)

This story was about a boy whose name was Dicky. He was so a naughty boy and bothered their family. He wouldn't listen to his mother's word and just kept doing mischief. His mother, Mrs. Bendall was always bothered by him. One day she told about his bad behavior to her friend, Mrs. Spears. Then she said that parents couldn't bring up their children without beating. She disagreed her friend's word but thought there were nothing to do except for beating. At the night she asked her husband to beat Dicky instead of her...

I agreed with Mrs. Spears opinion roughly. However, I'd like to scold my children not by physically but by mentally. Too much beating would be cruelty. I thought it needed both of physically and mentally discipline to bring up my children. DIcky's parents had to do mentally one.

The School After a Long Time of Staying at Home

How long time has passed? For several hundred million years? Anyway, today I went to the school for the first time in a long time. I've already used to take online lectures, so actually, I think I can't live on the schedule before the self-imposed control term. It's very comfortable for me. However, more reports makes me much busier... Therefore it is sad not to be able to meet classmates (not friends). So, it will be not bad to return to previous life.

Book review (A Little Princess)

"I must be brave," she whispered. "A princess is always brave, so I must be, too. But it's not easy." (pp. 28~29)
Sara Crewe was a daughter of a rich man. She began to live and study in Miss Minchin's Schools for Girls. She was a clever, kind and brave girl and most of girls loved her. She lived there like a princess. However, on her eleventh birthday, many bad news came to her and her life have changed to poor...

I have read it before in Japanese. The brave and pride of Sara and the kindness of her friends always move me. If I were Sara, I would yielded to pressure and be depressed. She has strong heart.

Book review(Anne of green gabels)

"Why are you always in trouble, Anne?" asked Marilla, when she heard about Anne's adventure."Well, I think I'm learning, Marilla," answered Anne."I learn from my mistakes, and after today, I won't use my imagination so much. I don't think Avonlea is the right place for imagination." (p. 26)

Anne Shirley was an orphan. She was taken by old brothers, Mr.Matthew and Mrs.Marilla Cuthbert. She began to work at their house and go to school. She met many friends and persons. As she grew, she changed an imaginative girl to a nice girl...

It was fun to read getting her growing. I especially like relationship between Anne and Gilbert. At first, Although they hated each other, finally they became good friends. This is the "SEISYUNN". I wish I had have such adolescent life.

Book review(Too old to rock and roll and other stories)

But it was some years before I really understood why Pat Coleman asked me to her home that day. She wanted to be like other people just for once, so she asked a friend home for tea. (p.29)
A heroine and Patricia Coleman were friends. They usually went home together to half-way. One day Pat invited her to Pat's house for a tea. Her house was in Rockingham Crescent where main girl went through before. On that day she visited there with an excite and doubt...

In conclusion, it was painful. As you can see my quotation, Pat was not rich enough to invite friends to her home for a tea. Actually her life was equal to poor abundance; unhappy. After reading, I thought for those children and teenagers like Pat.

Book review (Just Like a Movie)

'Wow!' said Joe. 'That's really is a sad story, Brad,' he said. 'Yeah,' I said. 'A sad story...That's life. It's just like a movie...' (p.32)

Brad and  her girlfriend like movies very much. They dreamed to live together, however, they were too poor to do that. One day when they saw a romance movie, Brad had an idea to get big money. However he couldn't carry on as his scheme...

Book review (Don't stop now!)

'Crash!''Aaah!'I looked up from my coffee. 'Crash!' -that was the cafe window. And 'Aaah!' - that was Kate. (p.6)
The most impressive scene for me is on page 20. Its chapter title is "Kiss of death". When I noticed the mean of title, I was very confused...
Not only that chapter, there are many astonish scenes. Please check by your eyes!

Book review (The Caribbean File)

'Can I do it?' thought Munro. 'Yes, I can.' After half an hour Tajik stood up. 'Now!' thought Munro. 'Ninety seconds.' Tajik took his gun and started to walk round the hotel. Munro came out from behind the flowers. (p.24)

I can't tell about this story because it may spoil this story. But only I can say is you may be surprised at the true  criminal.
